Join in on the fun!

Worst case scenario, you hate it and unsubscribe and it'll be like it never happened 😉

 Here's the deal:

I have a confession to share with you: I have always HATED email subscriptions... I'm not interested in being sent a list of things to buy every day. Sorry not sorry!

So why am I here, offering to have you join my email subscription?

In truth, for the last 5 years I have avoided sending out more than the bare minimum when it comes to business emails. I don't want to be that person, ya know?

And then my Instagram account got bugged. Overnight, I lost the 20,000 member community I had spent the last 5 years building.

Don't get me wrong, it was pretty devastating!

But it was a good reminder.. social media is fickle (and it's exhausting to be at the mercy of the algorithm gods!)

I had followers asking me where I was going next, and how could they keep seeing content from me? I was more than a little reluctant to return to social media.

And also.. I'm pretty tired of the short form content and endless scrolling anyways.

So I revisited the idea of building an email community and I asked myself, what would make me want to open an email? Can I create something that I would actually enjoy?

I've got a lot going on, I'm running in every direction, and I don't have much time to spare.

I don't know about you, but if I'm going to read an email, it will be because it's entertaining, interesting and informative. And most importantly, the sales pitches would be VERY minimal.

In other words, it will give a lot and take very little.

So here's what I started:

Every 1-2 weeks is a new series on various homesteading topics.

Emails are typically sent out 2-3 days a week and take about 5 minutes to read.

We just finished up the "Poultry Series," which was a 6 part (2 week) series on:

1. Guinea fowl
2. Raising meat chickens & meat ducks
3. Raising laying chickens & laying ducks
4. A Guard Goose
5. How to upgrade your coop so you can go on vacation
6. Raising turkeys for meat

The next series will be on the Spring garden, including what medicinal herbs we grow and how we use them. This new series starts on April 5th.

Here are some of the series I have planned next:

  • Gut health & how to get started fermenting
  • Gardening: tips and tricks for higher yields
  • Keeping rabbits for meat sustainability
  • Raising pigs
  • Rendering & using animal fats
  • Milling your own grains & how to bake with them

And here's the best part (in my opinion):

Our email community gives us suggestions on topics they want to learn about AND they get to vote on what series they want next.

Not going to lie, this whole thing has been unexpectedly awesome and there's always room for one more 😉

 Last chance to join in!

And if I'm not your cup tea, you can opt-out any time. No hurt feelings, I promise 😉

Sad you missed out on the poultry series?

You can sign up here to have it sent to you over the next 6 days:
